I wouldn't say abnormal because I have heard of babies being born with a tooth! My friend has a baby that is 6 months and already has 5 teeth. My daughter is 5 months and has no teeth but she is teething. My son who is 8 yrs old started to cut his teeth at 3 months. so nothing is normal or abnormal when it comes to teething! Take your index finger and bend it and rub your knuckle on his gums. also use the water teethers, freeze them and then give it to your son. you'd be suprised how soothing it feels to him. also you can get teething tablets. dissolve 2-3 under his tounge. They disolve instantly so don't be too scared to do so.
